This one movement work in ternary form endeavors to encapsulate a brief, glowing pause of achievement in the perpetual helical quest for a spiritual evolution. Premiered by Melinda Daetsch and the composer in Ithaca, NY in the fall of 1991. Cleveland OH premiere occurred in November 1992. Donald Weilerstein, violin, Vivian Weilerstein, piano. Epicycle: an ensemble for new music.
